• Display name — shown on leaderboards and community posts
• Car details — make, model, year, mileage, and condition that you submit for scoring
• Community content — posts, reactions, and comments you choose to share
• Photos — if you choose to add a photo to your garage entry (optional)

Information collected automatically

• Device type and operating system — iOS or Android, to ensure the app works correctly
• Usage data — which screens you visit and features you use, to improve the app
• IP address — collected at the point of submission for security purposes
• Crash and diagnostic data — to identify and fix technical issues

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your SPOOL account
• Generate your car's future classic score
• Display your scores and garage on leaderboards and community features
• Improve the app based on how people use it
• Respond to support requests
• Send important account-related emails (we do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent)

We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored securely using Supabase. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and strict access controls.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Do We Share Your Information?

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate SPOOL:

Your Rights (UK GDPR)

As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — delete your account and all associated data at any time, either via the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing us
• Right to object — object to how we process your data
• Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format

Cookies and Local Storage

The SPOOL web app uses essential cookies and local storage only — these are required for your login session to work. We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies.

The iOS and Android apps use local device storage solely to maintain your login session.

Children's Privacy

SPOOL is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the UK/EU where stricter rules apply). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@spooljdm.com and we will delete it promptly.

Data Transfers

SPOOL is operated from the United Kingdom. Your data may be processed by our service providers in other countries including the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

Third-Party Links

SPOOL may display links to external websites such as car listing pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SPOOL after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
